I hear all kinds of feminine names for boys these days. Examples: Peyton, Cayden, Aiden, etc.
Whatever happend to mike, robert, chris, jeff, etc.....Names that sound masculine?
What is With These Feminine Baby Boy Names?
I don't think Peyton, Cayden and Aiden are too feminine. Overused, but still masculine. Peyton may have lost a bit, b/c it's used on girls...
Those other names you mentioned are just too common, I think. But, actually, the still are very common. Michael is in the top 2 spot! It'd been the #1 for almost half a century till ago a decade ago. Chris, Jeff, Robert are all very common too. I see those name a lot.
Remember, by default, more unique names are going to be asked about on here. That's why you see the names you mentioned less: Why would you ask if "John Michael" is a bad name when it's so prevalent and "tried and tested" already? It's people who want to use unusual one that want to ask...
I think this is pretty subjective. It's all about opinion. You think Aiden is feminine whereas i don't.
As for the others you mentioned Peyton etc.. they both, they're androgynous.
I think that there's nothing wrong with giving boys a slightly effeminate name, especially not in 2008! Maybe it's a cultural or generational difference but you don't have to have a masculine name to be a man. What is With These Feminine Baby Boy Names?

I think that name like Mike and Jeff are to overused and that people are just trying to be original and not have a child that has the same name as a lot of guys do. An another thing I would never name a little girl Aiden.
Because Peyton, Cayden, and Aiden ARE boys names. People are naming their little girls masculine names like Dylan, Riley, Cameron and Peyton.
I think they are good for some guys. My boyfriends name is Morgan. I think it sounds very sophisticated. The so called "Classic" boys names you speak of are so overused and most of them are boring.
i disagree. those are all male names, and the problem is people are using male names for baby girls. Mike, Robert, Chris, etc. are all old and boring.\
Those are overused and boring..example my brother's names are robert and jeff. People are trying to find cute and unique names.
Peyton and Aidan are masculine names. Just because stupid parents don't know their genders and use them on little girls doesn't make them less masculine.
I did Carson. I know, I know. But I wanted something individual.
Aidan isn't a feminine name; it's an Irish name that's been in use for centuries.
Ive never met any girl with the name aidan only boys and i know about 10 aidans
people are trying to be unique... i guess
